Exploring Outback Queensland

Ask a foreign traveller what they know about Australia and they will most likely say sun, kangaroos, and outback deserts.

All of this, and more, can be found in Queensland. If you are lucky enough to have the wide-open road ahead of you, here are a couple of reasons why exploring outback Queensland is a great choice.

Nature at its Best

You won’t be able to believe how up close and personal you can get with nature and wildlife. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds chirping, spot a wild kangaroo crossing the road, and be amazed at the dazzling bedtime show the stars perform for you. If the latter attracts you, Charleville Cosmos Centre is the place to be, with stargazing experts there to answer your every question.

Culture and History

There is much of Australian – and worldly – history located in the outback. Eromanga National History Museum proudly displays Cooper and George, two dinosaur fossils found in the area that are not just the largest in Australia but rank in the top 10 largest in the world. Want to learn about more recent history? Winton is the site of the Waltzing Matilda Centre, named in honour of Banjo’ Paterson, who penned the famous song there.

The open road ahead of you brings total freedom and serenity. Experience a different kind of holiday with an outback Queensland adventure!
