How’s Your Mental Wellness?

“Wellness” is another of those much-heralded, much misunderstood 21st century terms that marketers have distorted for their own purposes. The concept of “Wellness” has been so maligned that we tend to ignore the zillions of products and services that are falsely labelled “wellness inducers.”

There’s a lot of buzz about wellness. Despite marketing abuses, the fact remains that persons in touch with a lifestyle of wellness lead happier, more fulfilling and healthier lives than those who reject the concept.

Is Your Wellness Up to Par?

When our wellness state of mind is correctly aligned, we recognize how empowering a life of wellness can be. Each of us controls our destiny through a well-considered wellness program that embraces all aspects of our lives.

If you ask “How’s My Wellness State of Mind?” and don’t like where you stand on any of the eight dimensions, the logical question is “How do I get properly aligned?” Begin by accepting the theory that stress, anxiety and many other physical and emotional conditions are attributed to the lack of proper wellness coordination. When we are out of balance, we make poor decisions, put ourselves at risk on many fronts and always seem on the defensive.

Assessing our wellness state of mind and then embracing corrections can dramatically change the course of our lives, improve our health, lift our career, lead to more meaningful relationships, create financial well-being and give us the confidence we need to succeed. That, my friends, is the empowerment of knowing your wellness state of mind.

Now What?

While many persons may claim to be wellness experts, the reality is that if we accept wellness as an eight-dimensional condition, it would be rare, if not impossible, that one person could help us improve all aspects of our initiative. Yes, we need more than one wellness coach. We might need a financial wellness coach, an intellectual wellness coach and others as we deem appropriate.

The purpose of evaluating our wellness state of mind is to help us identify areas of our greatest stress. Simply asking “How’s Your Wellness State of Mind” only points us to those dimensions of our lives that need work.

A true wellness program preserves those dimensions where we are succeeding and incorporates therapies for those dimensions that need improvement.  The time to pursue wellness is now. Soon all your tomorrows will be better, healthier, and more promising. Wellness works. Let’s start today by thoroughly assessing your wellness state of mind.
