Sojourn In Switzerland
Where can you experience one culture after another without having to spend time and money travelling the world? Switzerland! Located right in the middle of several major European cities, Switzerland is home to many wonderful sights, sounds, and nationalities. The three major languages and ethnic groups are French, Italian, and German, each bringing their own architecture, traditions, and ideals. It does not matter what time of the year you go, there is always something amazing to see and do.
Summer: June to September
Summer in Switzerland is in no way like Summer in Australia. The weather is temperate, letting you get out amongst the luscious green scenery and being active without having to worry about an oppressive heat.
Take a Swiss Rhine Biking Tour, riding along riversides, past traditional and quaint houses, and explore Roman ruins that will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The route is accessible for almost everyone, with a low-level ability rating. Tours can include stays at high-class hotels, where you can sit back and relax after a day of energetic sight-seeing.
Animal-lovers will not want to pass up a visit to Basil Zoo. Animals from near and far call ‘Zolli’ home, and the unique design allows for them to roam free and happy. See the lions, elephants, and rhinos in their natural habitat, and on sunny days you can even watch the penguins take a walk through the zoo grounds.
Get the best view of the breathtaking scenery with a trip on the Bernina Express. This luxury train travels from the north to south of Europe, through UNESCO World Heritage sites and past glaciers and palm trees.
Winter: December to March
Experience a totally different world, with snow-covered landscapes and refreshing atmospheres. Mineralbad & Spa Rigi-Kaltbad is a soothing hot mineral water sauna. Have a massage followed by a dip in one of the indoor or outdoor pools. To make it even better, the view is amazing, with mountains rising up to kiss the sky.
Parliament Square artificial ice rink is a crowd favourite. Thousands of tourists and locals visit this attraction every year, finishing up with a bite to eat at the rink’s restaurant where you can enjoy mulled wine and fondue.
If you are lucky enough to spend Christmas abroad, you will not want to miss one of the many Switzerland Christmas markets. Lausanne Christmas market includes the whole town, with stalls and light displays located all over. There is also an ice rink and popular bars and restaurants where you can dine and relax.
Choosing a holiday destination is an important task. When selecting Switzerland you get luxury accommodation, breathtaking views, and exciting adventures.
