AWLQ has grown to become one of the largest animal welfare organisations in Australia and cares for more than 11,000 abandoned and homeless animals every year – providing them somewhere safe and warm to stay.

Working closely with councils and the community, and through innovative rehoming strategies, AWLQ has been able to improve the outcomes of abandoned and homeless animals. In the past twelve months AWLQ has provided a safe haven for over 4,000 animals in our amazing foster carers homes, reunited 2,924 lost animals with their families and rehomed over 7,000 animals, providing them with a second chance at life in a loving home.

AWLQ promises to never euthanize a healthy, sociable, or treatable animal in our care.

The Golden Hearts ™ Senior Pet Support Program offers reassurance to individuals over 65 by ensuring their beloved pets receive discounted care and emergency boarding, allowing them to cherish the companionship and benefits of having an animal companion without worry.

For Animal Welfare League Qld, gifts in Wills helps us keep our doors open, and enables to give those animals that come into our care, a second chance at life. Without bequests, we would have to severely scaleback the work we do.
